MilAero Earns National Supplier Award

A growing Dartmouth aerospace and defence manufacturer is earning national recognition after more than doubling its workforce, expanding its facility and building a five-year supplier relationship with one of the world’s leading defence companies.
MilAero Electronics Atlantic Inc. received the 5-Year Supplier Recognition Award from General Dynamics at CANSEC, Canada’s largest defence and security trade show held in Ottawa last month. The award recognizes MilAero’s role as a trusted supplier to General Dynamics and comes as the Indigenous, female-owned Nova Scotia company continues a period of rapid growth.
MilAero has expanded its physical space in Dartmouth and grown from 33 employees to 70. The company is now preparing to hire another 20 people as demand increases for its specialized aerospace and defence manufacturing work. In March 2026, MilAero opened the MilAero Academy to train new talent for its growing business.
“This award is meaningful because it recognizes the strength of our team, the quality of our work and the trust we have built with one of the world’s leading defence companies,” said Debora Greedy, MilAero Vice President and co-owner. “For a Nova Scotia company to be recognized on a national stage at CANSEC speaks to the depth of capability that exists here in our province.”
General Dynamics said its relationship with MilAero reflects the importance of dependable supplier partnerships in delivering complex defence programs.
“MilAero has been an important supplier partner to General Dynamics, and we value the relationship we have built over five plus years,” said Christa Hammond, Director, Supply Chain Management at General Dynamics Canada. “Their commitment to quality, reliability and responsiveness supports the complex work we do for our customers, and we are pleased to recognize their contribution through this award.”
MilAero builds highly specialized cable and wire harnesses, electromechanical enclosures and power distribution units for the aerospace and defence sector. Its work is part of a growing advanced manufacturing base in Nova Scotia, where local companies are increasingly contributing to national and international defence supply chains.
“Our growth has been intentional,” said Greedy. “We are investing in our people, our facility, our systems and the next generation of talent so we can continue to deliver for our customers while creating skilled jobs here in Nova Scotia.”
The company’s recent growth reflects increasing demand across the defence and aerospace sector and the opportunity for Nova Scotia companies to play a larger role in highly specialized manufacturing.
“This is not just recognition for MilAero,” added Greedy. “It is a reminder that Nova Scotia companies can compete, contribute and lead in areas that are critical to Canada’s defence and aerospace industries.”
